The Couch

Natalie Dupont suffers from crippling insomnia. She decides to seek professional help and sees psychoanalyst Dr. Mannick. She hopes for improvement of her symptoms with the help of psychoanalyses. When asked about the origin of her insomnia, Natalie claims to have committed a crime. Dr. Mannick is fazed by this confession, yet able to continue the session. He asks her to tell him about the supposed crime. While Natalie tells the story, he tries to figure out if she is telling the truth about the incident. This leads to a game of cat-and-mouse between the two. Every question regarding the motif for her actions is left unanswered by Natalie. Unable to get answers, Dr. Mannick resorts to a little trick of his profession to figure Natalie out. Does she really pose a threat or is she playing a game? He opts for drastic measures to provide Natalie the desired help. (Indy Film Fest)
