Plots(1)

Glencoe, a small town in Minnesota. This is America, as America likes to see itself: hard-working, with a strong sense of family, law-abiding, devout and rural. Women get married in their early 20s; in the yards, the grass gets mowed once a week. The director likes the people of Glencoe, but he also tries to understand why everything is the way it is. Why do people keep mowing the lawn? And would it be possible to be openly homosexual in Glencoe. Six years after filming the first segment, the director returns to the town. The town has changed, the people aren’t as contented as before. Crop prices have dropped; many farmers are struggling to survive (DOK.fest München)
