In a Hungarian arms factory, acts of sabotage disrupt production. Demeter Iván, electrician is preparing for his next move. He gets Szűcs Mihály, a drunkard, to place a time-bomb amid aluminium chips. The blast kills a workman. Suspicion falls on Benkő Ferenc, a young engineer who has been taken on recently, and is frowned upon by Dobó, the works manager, whose daughter he has been courting. Demeter woos Mariska, who works in the gun-powder mixing unit, to be able to hide a time-bomb there, which he does but then gets arrested. Benkő is released and, with Dobó's approval, there is no obstacle to the marriage of Dobó's daughter and the engineer. (official distributor synopsis)
