Mortician Molly Harrison hates her birthday. With good reason. Three years ago, on that day, her husband Peter, died in a tragic accident. Since then, she has been struggling with agoraphobia. As a gag, she is given a birthday gift from her mother and daughter. The gift, a life-size male doll named Pedro, somehow comes to life, in the form of her late husband, played by comedian Jo Koy in his first film role, complicating her ties with her family as well as a budding relationship.
