The Weeping

The first image we see in Weeping is that of a young man walking with a duffel bag on his shoulder. We later find out he is Elías, Sonia’s husband, who has left the town where they live to find work in Buenos Aires. Sonia is pregnant, and has been left alone to a routine of doctor’s appointments, truck rides and religious classes. (Mar del Plata International Film Festival)
