After a year away from home, disgraced physician Jim Hogan (Adrian Dunbar) returns to make amends with his family. With nowhere else to go, he turns to his dutiful but ailing eldest daughter, Fiona (Gráinne Keenan), and her cash-strapped husband, Paul (Ian Lloyd Anderson). Then, one night, Fiona's car veers off the road and into a canal, leading to a disturbing discovery.
