Revenge

Patrik Eklund’s new short series in ten episodes is an absurd, dark comedy with a heaping of warmth. Anki Larsson and Olle Sarri shine in the roles as the has-been elite athlete and her recently divorced and homeless son Mattias. Annbritt spends her days doing meaningless tasks at her state-subsidized job for long-term unemployed persons, drinking loads of beer, and falling asleep in unexpected places. One day the judge from 1983 gives her the opportunity to replay the final match, 35 years later. Cheered on by her psychologist and choleric son, she eagerly takes the chance. (Göteborg Film Festival)
