Pinkel

Pinkel is a working-class boy from Rotterdam, aged 20. He hangs wallpaper for a living and lives with his 17-year old girlfriend Marjan and their baby. Not so long ago, Pinkel was a politically-minded punk who played in the punk band Tändstickorshocks with his mate Geert. He has turned his back on his guitar and punk: his new ideas about women and other things are diametrically opposed to his previous ideals as expressed in Tändstickorshocks' radical lyrics. Anarchy is no more. Part of this film was shot at the close of 1979 at the height of the Dutch punk movement. With rare footage from a Tändstickorshocks gig at Kasee and a legendary performance by Jules Deelder, who leaves the stage heckled and spat upon. (International Film Festival Rotterdam)
