Sex and the City (1998)

English Carrie Bradshaw knows a whole lot about sex and she isn’t afraid to ask! Lucky for her; I am afraid of asking why this foursome always wear such asexual, horrible clothes. Metropolitan forty-somethings, what can you do? You can’t explain to them that life isn’t about pulling a young buck, recalling better times, trying to hook Mr. Big and shopping for one-use-then-dispose high-heeled shoes. It’s watchable (once in a while), although, more than a series, this is an obvious commercial for Fashion TV in a slightly more bearable guise. And dialogs about the vagina, its crisis and their own problems (a great episode, by the way). An average show that went under because the producers didn’t know when to stop and so kept on giving us more commerci... um, episodes without there being any reason for their existence. Because Carrie Fisher told us everything she knows about sex and life in the first three seasons. And that was shamefully little. And with too few revelations. In fact, the constantly shrouded Parker is the biggest minus of the whole series. You wait and wait, but get nothing. ()
