The uplifting story of Chicago-born and raised Michael D. McCarty: Chicago Black Panther, recovered drug addict, acupuncturist, father, Sai Baba disciple, and a professional storyteller. We follow the full arc of Michael’s journey from being the late-life baby of hard-working parents, to serving in the military to escape persecution by the FBI, to his life today. Watching Michael you feel you are his confidante as he playfully reflects on lessons learned, obstacles overcome, and such relevant topics as being Black in America, the power of story, and maintaining a sense of humor through it all.
