Miruna, a 12-year-old Romanian girl, has no doubts about her future. She certainly does not plan to get married anytime soon and have lots of kids, like many of the girls in her neighbourhood. Her ambition is to become a cop. While the admission tests at the police academy will be far from easy, Miruna is determined to succeed and escape the socially excluded environment where she lives. Opportunities for quiet time to study in a home with 12 siblings may be scarce, but she is diligently trying to improve her grades. The only downside to her dream of the police academy is the knowledge that she will have less time to spend with her siblings, to whom she devotes herself every day. (One World)
