Blood Paradise

Plots(1)

When her latest novel flops, the publisher sends the best-selling crime-writer, Robin Richards, to a Swedish Countryside Farm for inspiration. The charming, rustic farm turns out to be a ramshackle house of horrors that are revealed slowly and shockingly. The farmer has a secret, his eccentric sister never utters a word, but is surely up to something? The gun-nut son, the creepy driver who claims to be a big fan, and his jealous wife form a cast of intriguing characters. Will Robin finally find the inspiration she seeks? At what cost? Mystery, eye-catching cinematography, and oddball humor make for an enthralling film that knows how to have a good time, while keenly balancing horror and laughs. (Cinequest Festival)

English The Swedish-American film Blood Paradise is an example of Patrick von Barkenberg and Andréa Winter wanting to make something grittier, but that’s not the case with this film. The film does have some nice shots of the lead actress, but it’s not as gritty as a viewer of similar films might want to see. It's actually a bit boring in places, which you don't expect. And the point isn't exactly groundbreaking either. ()
