The Island

On the steep, green landscape of the island of El Hierro, the Germans Gerd and Gerda have built a self-sufficient life far from consumerism, their own world marked by the flow of nature. Three of their four daughters come back on holiday, bringing the rhythm of the city and the world to their lives, in a film that takes us to a haven of peace for a moment, at the same time as is shows that another way of life is possible.
