Alison, the prospective bride, grew up feeling betrayed by her father, from whom she has never heard since he walked out on the family when she was very young. When he makes an unexpected appearance on her wedding day, her overwhelming fear of trusting others resurfaces and makes her doubt her own chances at a lifetime of happiness with her fiance, Kevin. When her mother, Harriet (Linda Kelsey), reveals that her father did indeed write to her but she threw the letters away for fear Alison would choose him over her, Alison further questions the true meaning of love. It is only when Monica shares some life-altering news with the young couple that Alison learns what it means to love and trust someone with all your heart. (Paramount+)
