A man named Che (Antonio Banderas) recounts the story of Eva, born to a poor rural family, who used her exceptional talents to become a theatrical success in Buenos Aires. It is there that Eva meets Juan Peron, an officer with whom she falls in love. She helps Peron achieve the presidency, only to find herself fighting for the impoverished of Argentina.
