Bikontine doubts whether he should leave Burkina Faso or not. In order to dispel his uncertainty, he arms himself with a pen and travels through his poor country. Debuting Lucie Viver follows the curious, intellectual, easy-going charmer with a Rasta hat and an infections smile, as he meets the country’s people: street cleaners, gold diggers, the doctor, school children, football players and others. Also along on the trip in spirit is the murdered and beloved president Thomas Sankara (often referred to as Africa’s Che Guevara). Accompanied by Bikontine’s poems, we plunge into Burkina Faso’s soul and learn more about life and in most of this year’s films. (Göteborg Film Festival)
