A Matter of Time (S02E16)

While attempting to save the members of SG-10 from a black hole on planet P3X-451, SG-1 activates the stargate on Earth and exposes itself to the singularity's gravitational pull. Trying to break free, the team shuts down the stargate. The ensuing explosion seriously injures Teal'c and Dr. Daniel Jackson. Even without power to the stargate, the black hole's gravity continues to draw Stargate Command closer to the swirling wormhole. With the intense gravity field warping the space/time continuum, SGC loses contact with the outside world. The Pentagon sends Col. Jack O'Neill's former comrade, Col. Cromwell, to investigate. Cromwell is plagued with guilt for deserting O'Neill during a Cold War-era mission and volunteers to join him in the attempt to save SGC. Time slows to a near-standstill inside Stargate Command. Capt. Samantha Carter scrambles to devise a solution before SGC and all of Earth are torn apart by the black hole's gravitational tides. (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM))
