The Hoffman transformation is great, of course, and interesting, but otherwise I'm afraid it's just a relaxing film set in the fictional General Hospital. A soap opera where it's all soap opera all the time. ()
I knew "Mrs. Doubtfire" before, but this is just overall definitely a better movie that works both in terms of acting and storytelling. It's not pathetic or unnecessarily emotional, it's just the way you would wish for it to be. Well-balanced in every aspect, incredibly funny from start to finish. The more dramatic moments definitely don't ruin the impression. ()
