Our Times is a refreshing teenage romcom from Taiwan. Its narrative revolves around Truly, an ordinary high school girl who is secretly in love with Ouyang, the school heartthrob. In an attempt to win his heart, she befriends the troubled Taiyou and, in turn, undergoes a lot of changes. Graduation, however, puts an end to the possibility of requited love and the students drift apart. Years later, they reunite and give love a second chance. (Busan International Film Festival)

A two-hour romantic film set in Taiwan? I didn't expect it to grab me like that, but it did. There were scenes that almost exhausted me emotionally, mostly to tears. It's not very revelatory, but the story is so beautifully human and the characters are so beautifully rendered that I enjoyed the two hours to the fullest.
