As Paulo encounters his colourful customers – from arrogant youths, to colleagues, cops, a caring nurse – the truth about his own bleak life and that of others is uncovered in delicate little vignettes. Tired, lonely, and just about managing to send money home to his little son, the twilight world in such a dynamic city appears simultaneously authentic and hypnotic in this wonderfully personal film.
