The Czechoslovak Sokol Community organized a winter skiing competition as a part of the 8th Sokol Gathering. The snowy Jilemnice square was the place of start of a cross-country skiing race of men, 50km and 18km, and a cross-country skiing race of women - 10 km.
The 50 km raceway was passing by the railroad track in the village of Maříkov. The winner was Antoš Bachtík, the second place was occupied by Josef Feistauer, and the third place went to Josef Německý. During the 18 km race there was snowing heavily on the race way.
The film shots are also showing several unpleasant falls on the steep slope of the Kocanda Hill. At the end there was also ski jumping competition held in the place called Na Chmelnici. We can see ski jumps of individual competitors and short shots showing treatment of the ski jumps. The longest ski jump was 34 metres. (Mezinárodní festival outdoorových filmů)
