Plots(1)

This aggressive film essay is about the emptiness of words and phrases and the (self-)destructive effects of human civilisation. The title is a verse from Dante's Inferno and is a reference to the Tower of Babel and the Confusion of Tongues. The work is dominated by shots from the rubbish dump in a large city – the contribution of the cinematographer Alois Nožička, a member of the Prague Surrealist Circle of that time.
