Abandoned and rootless children can be found in nearly every big metropolis. They keep themselves alive with street dealing and activities in the criminal twilight zone. Filmmaker Philippe the Pierpont visited Burundi in 1991 and followed six street kids, who together tried to survive in the city of Bujumbura. Three years later, he returns to the children. Meanwhile, Burundi has had free elections, followed by a coup d'état and savage massacres. The insecurity in the country has driven the kids apart; everybody is going his own way now. The children give candid accounts of their daily lives in an extremely unsafe and chaotic country. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
