The first half of the series was pleasant and promising, the second half was unfortunately very frustrating, even ridiculous and annoying in the weakest moments. It could have been a fine reboot with likable new teen characters, but instead the filmmakers built on the existing film franchise and brought back old friends (whenever Jennifer Tilly is on screen, I swear to God it physically hurts, how I hate her!) and not to the benefit of the cause. The mythology around Chucky and Tiffany isn’t fun and the flashbacks to the distant past were uninteresting. Unfortunately, even the believability and likability of the new characters introduced in the first episodes goes completely down the drain in the second half of the series. I was hoping for 4*, but in the end I have to force myself a bit to give it 3*.
