This film was made under the auspices of the Department of Employment, concerning the treatment of youth unemployment in a typical Canadian city. Central to the story is Charlie Gordon, a boy who grew up during the Depression and never held a job. Despite his straightened circumstances he feels that people do not care. But his life changes when a local employer decides to give him and a few others the chance to learn a trade. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
