Throughout, I kept thinking that the acting performances were simply outstanding, and Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn had perfect chemistry, as they demonstrated multiple times. But then I realized that it's precisely those acting performances that stand out in an otherwise not very engaging story that doesn't manage to captivate you on its own.
