The Night of the Beast

The 28th of February 2008 was a very special day for heavy metal fans in Colombia. On that day, Iron Maiden, one of the most important heavy metal bands in the world, played for the first time in the capital. Teenagers Chuki and Vargas have waited for this day. The two friends are diehard fans of the band. As such, both friends ditch school and embark on a journey through the streets of Bogotá As they divagate through the city, they are mugged. Their money, their phones and the two precious tickets for that night’s concert are stolen. What nobody knew, not even our heroes, was that the roaring guitars, the thundering drums and the powerful screams of the ‘beast’, would forge a musical revolution in Bogotá’s emblematic Simon Bolivar Park.
