Simon István forester lives in a cottage high in the Bükk mountains with his wife expecting a baby. It is winter, according to the forecast a great snowfall is due. Éva, out of inexperience, misses the last opportunity to get down to Eger, in the hospital. The delivery is beginning. Simon prepares himself to assist. With the directives of Bonta, the party secretary the whole Bükkalja makes a move: the doctor and the midwife need to be transported up to the young woman who is expecting a difficult delivery. In the snow covered nature the forester, woodcutter, railway worker and horses, man and animals struggle incessantly to ensure a safe birth for little Simon Menyhért. (official distributor synopsis)
