A documentary about the travels of a hypothetical geographer and explorer captivated by the Venezuelan Guyana, the land of the great Orinoco, where large gold reserves exist under the palms of the Moriche. The geographer observes the extraction of gold and the life of the miners, makes drawings, maps and illustrations – his words describe their experiences in a meditative essay tone that becomes a fiction of sparkling adventure poetry. At the same time, the film inspires a reflection on the material nature of the images and the photochemical processes of transmutation – the 16 mm in which it is shot is like the fragile residue of an extraction. Thus, the images are remains of sparkles of primitive light from nature, gold that slips through in front of our eyes. (Mar del Plata International Film Festival)
