Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (2001)

English I first saw this movie years ago at the Galaxie theater complex, the first time I heard Dolby Surround and, come to think of it, my first ever visit to a movie theater complex (several movies playing all at once! amazing!). The movie is no blockbuster, but I had a marvelous time watching it. No shortage of funny scenes and Dundee in L.A. works, also as Paul Hogan’s symbolic farewell to the silver screen.

DragonHeart (1996)

English Great fantasy where the most likeable dragon ever literally shines. The ending is incredibly moving and it makes me very soft inside.

What Women Want (2000)

English A romantic comedy with a great cast, with everything a good romantic comedy needs. An unusual plot, Mel Gibson and great chemistry between the central pair. Helen Hunt plays an excellent supporting role to Gibson. They complement each other perfectly and they make the story believable. Possible. And that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? That’s the main thing.

Demolition Man (1993)

English The unforgettable one-liners and the brilliantly demonic Wesley Snipes are undoubtedly the biggest assets of this classic, which entertains even when the future is already a thing of the past. :)

Alexander (2004)

English In terms of acting, Alexander is very high level. Colin Farrell is excellent and Angelina Jolie blew me away, before I had a very poor opinion of her, but her she really put on a great show. The production design is exemplary, the battles duly spectacular, but the magic fades from them under the weight of longwinded soul searching. Some legendary events are left out (cutting the Gordian knot), while they could have spiced up the story nicely and bring in a taste of the unknown. Stone didn’t know when to take his foot off the gas and when to hit the floor. It was his only mistake, but it was huge.

Freaky Friday (2003)

English A very enjoyable comedy with two great actresses. There’s plenty of fun and the script is simply wonderful.

Phone Booth (2002)

English An amazing thriller that bowled me over. The concert of acting by Colin Farrell and the chilling voice of Kiefer Sutherland glued my eyes to the screen from the start and taught me some... um, lessons. For instance, since then I don’t like telling lies and I’ve stopped calling from phone booths. You can never be too careful.

Swordfish (2001)

English This movie simply has a magic about it. Even I could probably manage to hack into the FBI, but that’s not important. John Travolta reels out wisecracks one after another, Hugh Jackman plays an ultra nasty man here while not coming across (too) ridiculous and Halle Berry, ha, showed more than I was bargaining for. Plus the soundtrack is superb. At the time I adored this movie.

Forever Young (1992)

English A very nice combination of romance and slightly naive science fiction. Mel Gibson is traditionally great, and little Elijah Wood is funny. Plus, it's one of my mom's favorite movies and that affects you too. 75%

Insomnia (2002)

English A sleepy Pacino, a psychopathic Robin Williams and the perfect directing from Christopher Nolan are the trumps in the hand of this criminal drama. As the days go by, the light burns into your eyes more and more, and the same happens to Dormer himself, the atmosphere thickens with each tired blink and the ending, which isn’t overly showy, still astounds you. And now please leave me be... I want... to sleeeep...
