Biography (3)
Spanish filmmaker Maria Ripoll studied directing at UCLA and the AFI in Los Angeles and made her directorial debut in 1996 with TWICE UPON A YESTERDAY starring Penelope Cruz. Among her subsequent films: THE MAN WITH RAIN IN HIS SHOES (1998, shown at the MWFF), TORTILLA SOUP (2011), UTOPIA (2003), MY LIFE IN '65 (2006), TRACES OF SANDALWOOD (2014, at the MWFF).
