Biography
Damien Manivel started his artistic career as a dancer before turning to cinema. After studying at Le Fresnoy, he directed several acclaimed shorts, including La Dame au chien (2010), which won the Prix Jean Vigo. Since 2014, he has produced and directed four feature films presented in major international festivals (Cannes, Locarno, Venice, San Sebastian). A Young Poet (2014) was screened in Cineasti del presente and won a Special mention. Manivel’s first film about dance is Isadora’s Children (2019).
