Biography
He is a son of an Italian immigrant father and an Italian-American mother, Gerald DiPego was born in Chicago in 1941 and moved to the small town of Round Lake, Illinois, where he worked in the family grocery store. He studied journalism at Northern Illinois University and worked as a reporter and teacher. In 1970, he moved to Los Angeles to work as a screenwriter and novelist. He is married to Christine DiPego, a singer and artist, and has two sons. He now lives in the Santa Ynez Valley in California.
