Biography
After a disappointing experience with the pinku eiga genre, Kurosawa Kiyoshi, born in 1955, made a name for himself as the leading figure of Japanese horror cinema, with films such as Cure, Kaïro and Retribution. His career definitely took off internationally with the deeply moving Tokyo Sonata. Now considered one of today’s greatest auteurs, Kurosawa has proved he could deliver rich, ground-breaking films.
