Sonia Bonspille Boileau, a descendant of Canada's original inhabitants, is a director and screenwriter. After graduating from Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University, she shot and produced various television programs in both English and French, from children's shows to documentaries on social issues. Her writer-director projects have been presented on Canadian television and abroad. The documentary Last Call Indien (2011) won the Diversity Award at the 2011 Gala des Prix Gémeaux. At present she is writing the script for another film, Rez Side Stories. Her writer-director debut Le dep was realized with financial support from Telefilm Canada.
