Saïd Belktibia

Saïd Belktibia

Biography

Saïd Belktibia, also known as Saïd Hasselof and born in Noisy-le-Sec (northeastern Paris), is a free spirit from the French alternative scene. Since his beginnings with the band La Caution whom he produced and managed, it looks like nothing can stop this all-rounder from the short film collective Kourtrajme. Through his career in music and participation in many music videos, the envy to try his hand at directing naturally came to him.

The 2006 Documentary La Caution rend visite aux gens et des gens rendent visit à la Caution (La Caution visits people and people visit La Caution) illustrates the band's live when they're on tour, with a vision free of any kind of subterfuge. He then collaborated with Ladj Ly on the docs 365 jours à Clichy Montfermeil about the 2005 riots in the suburbs and Go Fast Connexion in 2008.

Saïd uses his talents collaborating on commercials like the launch of the French soccer team jersey for Nike with french director Kim Chapiron, or Romain Gavras' Adidas ad. Theses experiences naturally lead Saïd to co-direct with his friends Ladj Ly and Benkoror Sangaré 365 jours au Mali in 2013, a documentary about Tuaregs in northern Mali. It's in 2014 that he finally directed his first own short film, Ghettotube, written by himself and French screenwriter Jérémie Delon.
