Clara Roquet

Biography

She began her career as a screenwriter with S.L. Familia, for which she won the Special Jury Prize at the 8th edition of the Julio Alejandro Screenplay SGAE Awards. Her second script for a feature film was 10,000 Km (2014), written in collaboration with Carlos Marqués-Marcet and shortlisted to represent Spain in that year’s Oscar race. Her short film debut, The Goodbye, won the Golden Spike at the 2015 Valladolid Festival and became finalist at the EFA Awards, as well as bagging the BAFTA Students Award. Since then, she has collaborated with filmmakers such as Jaime Rosales, Paula Ortiz, Isabel Coixet, Mounia Akl, and Antonio Méndez Esparza, among others. Libertad, her first feature film, premiered in the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival.
