Anthony Stacchi

Biography

Antony Stacchi joined LAIKA in 2007 from Sony Pictures Animation after co-directing the latter studio's CG-animated hit Open Season. Before his time at Sony, he had held positions including Head of Story, Storyboard Artist, and Animator at companies including PDI/DreamWorks; Industrial Light and Magic; and Henry Selick and Tim Burton's Skellington Productions. Among the animated features that he worked on were Antz, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Curious George, and the stop-motion portions of James and the Giant Peach.

He began his career as a Commercial Director at Colossal Pictures; and as a Character and Effects Animator on Aeon Flux, The Rocketeer, Hook, and Back to the Future, among other feature films.

Mr. Stacchi is a graduate of California Institute of the Arts, best known as CalArts. He has won many awards, the most prestigious of which is the "Best in Show" prize at the 1976 Worcester Boys Club Pigeon Pageant.
