Robinson Devor, a native New Yorker currently living in L.A. and Seattle, studied film at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He has lived and worked in Africa, co-curated an art exhibition of Sub-Saharan contemporary artists, and worked as a counsellor for the Suicide Prevention Center in L.A. He made his feature film directorial debut with The Woman Chaser (1999), which was well received both by the critics and on the festival circuit. Named one of Variety's "10 Directors to Watch" in 2000, Devor also directed the acclaimed documentary Angelyne about the L.A. billboard queen. Police Beat is his second feature film.
