Morten Arnfred

Born 1945, Denmark. Musician, cinematographer, television producer, film director and co-founder of the European Film College. A realist storyteller, Arnfred's first feature film Let's Do It / Måske ku'vi (1975) left a decisive mark on the youth film of the seventies. This was followed by three Bodil winners: Me and Charly / Mig og Charly (1978); Johnny Larsen / Johnny Larsen (1979), regarded as one of the most important films of the decade; and the Berlin contestant Land of Plenty / Det er et yndigt land (1983). Following his feature The Russian Singer / Den Russiske Sangerinde (1993), Arnfred worked closely with Lars von Trier on Breaking the Waves and was co-director on the first two serial installments of the The Kingdom / Riget (1994). The co-production Night Vision / Spor i mørket (1997) focused on the activities of Sjöwall and Wahlöös detective Martin Beck. Lykkevej is Arnfred's ninth feature film.
