Biography

Bonnie Henna was born in Soweto, South Africa. She attended school at Belgravia Convent and Greenside High School in Johannesburg.
Born Bonnie Mbuli, she was discovered at the age of 13, at a bus stop on her way home from school, by an agent who soon got her a job on the television series Viva Families.
She was then cast in small roles in such international productions as Tommy Lee Wallace's telefilm Born Free: A New Adventure. She also went on to work as a presenter and host on various television programs, including Teleschool; Zapmag; Technics Heart of the Beat; and Limits Unlimited.
In 2001, Ms. Henna landed a lead role in the hit youth–oriented television soap Backstage. She next starred as Portia, a young woman with AIDS, in the series Gaz'lam; and in the detective program Zero Tolerance.
Over the past few years, she has hosted a network television talk show in South Africa entitled True–Life; and appeared in two Canadian television series, Charlie Jade and Scouts Safari, among other projects.
Ms. Henna's other screen credits include starring opposite Taye Diggs in Zola Maseko's Drum; and the Danish film Zero Gravity, directed by Jon Bang Carlsen.
