Biography

Stuart A. STAPLES (1965, UK) is writer, singer, producer and founding member of the band Tindersticks, who have been active since 1992. Since then they have released ten studio albums and seven soundtracks for the films of French director Claire Denis. Their music was also used for several installations, dance and theatre projects, films, TV productions and fashion shows.

More recently, Staples created soundscapes for the In Flanders Fields Museum in Belgium, and curated The Waiting Room Film Project, together with the Clermont – Ferrand Short Film Festival, which is a series of short films inspired by the Tindersticks album The Waiting Room. In 2016, he directed the mid-length film Minute Bodies: The Intimate World of F. Percy Smith.
