Biography

The works of Jean-Gabriel Périot move between documentary, animation and the experimental. Among them are the short films Dies Irae, Eût-elle été criminelle... (included in the “.doc-New Paths of non-fiction” retrospective at San Sebastian in 2010) and The Devil. His first feature film, Une jeunesse allemande, opened the Berlinale’s Panorama section in 2015 and screened in Zabaltegi. Lumières d’été – Natsu no hikari, his first full-length fiction, premiered in the New Directors section at San Sebastian in 2016, while his short film Song for the Jungle won the Zabaltegi - Tabakelara Award in 2018. Nos défaites premiered at the Berlinale Festival Forum, where it received the CICAE Art Cinema Award.
