Director, since 1996 she works with Rainer Frimmel in cinema, theatre and photography. In 2002 they founded their production company Vento Film, with which they have been awarded numerous prizes with their documentaries. Their first fiction feature La Pivellina (2009) premiered at Cannes Director’s Fortnight and as well as receiving more than 30 awards (including Best Film and Actress at 47FICX) was Austria’s candidate for the Oscars. Their following films have won awards in Locarno and Venice, where their film Vera (2022) was awarded Best Director and Best Actress in the Orizzonti section. In 2018, FICX programmed the first retrospective in Europe of Covi and Frimmel’s work.
