Biography

Patrick Boivin is an autodidact who cut his teeth as director of Phylactère Cola, a comedy series totalling over 400 sketches for which he won a Gémeau for direction in 2002. His background as a cartoonist greatly inspired the fragmented nature of his work, which lends a unique signature to his directing. He went on to create a number of short films, winning prizes at festivals around the world. In 2007, he opened a YouTube account, quickly becoming one of Canada's most popular channels.

Over the years, he has broadcast several short films that have accumulated hundreds of millions of views. In 2011, he released Enfin l'automne online, the first Canadian feature film created for YouTube. His second feature, Bunker, was released in 2013. As a one-man band, he signs Echo to Delta in 2023, a feature-length drama for young audiences for which he wears the hats of director, cinematographer, animator and special effects designer.
