Biography

Julio Hernández Cordón directed his first short film, KM 31, in 2003. His first feature film, Gasolina, bagged him the Horizontes Award at the San Sebastian Festival 2008. Las marimbas del infierno (2010) secured his place as a multi-prizewinning moviemaker. He developed his third feature, Polvo (2010) at the Cannes Festival's Cinefondation Residence. Hasta el sol tiene manchas had its premiere at the FIDMarseille International Film Festival in 2012, and Te prometo anarquía, its world premiere in the international competition at Switzerland's Locarno Film Festival.
