Biography (1)

He was born in Montréal and although he studied medicine to please his parents, he already had made two shorts as a teenager. He joined the National Film Board in 1954 and made his first film in 1958. He directed Take it All (1963), Kamouraska (1973) and Mon Oncle Antoine (1971), one of the best movies in Canadian cinema.
