Biography (2)
Pen-ek Ratanaruang (b. 1962, Bangkok) studied art history at the Pratt Institute in New York City. After working as a graphic designer in NYC, he returned to Thailand and began directing commercials. His advertising work has won more than 20 national and international awards. He directed his first feature in 1997. His films received numerous awards at international film festivals.
