His parents are mexican. He studied philosophy at the UNAM in Mexico City and majored after finishing his thesis disertation on melancholy and philosphy. His fist short story book, El primer ojo, was published in 1997. He made his masters studies at Columbia University, New York. In latests years, he has filmed and written several short films, as well as two feature films. He was development director at Canana Films in 2009. He wrote the scrip for Déficit, Gael García Bernal's debut feature film; it was premiered at the Criticts Week in Cannes, 2007. He has worked as executive producer for several films, such as: Drama/Mex, Cochochi, Voy-a-explotar and Cefalópodo. In 2010, his second short story volumen, Cumbias y desparecer, was published by Moho editoral. As of now, he is working for Cineteca Nacional, building an abanadoned, amateurs and familiar movie archive. Machete languaje is his his debut feature film.
