"The Boy Who Set Out to Learn Fear" is the story of brave Michael, who wants to learn what the word fear means. At the same time, the King has promised his daughter's hand to anyone who can drive the gruesome ghosts from his castle...
A dark woods: Two young boys are out gathering wood: Michael and Caspar, the potter's sons. The noises and shadows scare Caspar, and when his younger brother Michael makes a joke at his expense, obviously not afraid at all, Caspar heads home, cursing. Michael wonders what it must feel like to be afraid. So he decides to go out into the world to learn the meaning of fear. In the moor, he meets two dangerous undead bog bodies...
Princess Elisabeth lives in a makeshift tent city with her father, the King, because their castle is haunted by ghosts, its treasure cursed. The Princess thinks it's all a big adventure, but the King only wants one thing: His castle back! He promises his daughter's hand in marriage to whoever can rid his castle of the ghosts. But so far, all have failed - to the secret delight of Princess Elisabeth. But then a boy shows up who's not afraid of anything, not of ghosts nor of ornery Princesses ...
